|Bloom 2, original oil painting by Shen
Jian Wei (2012)
This is another fine example of Shen's extreme realism. The details of the petals of the open bloom are exquisite, but the details continue in the rose buds and leaves.
Red Leaf Fall
(small): Xiang Xiu hand embroidered landscape
If you liked the larger version of this picture, but you don't have room for such a large wall hanging, you might want to settle for this version, instead. The difference between this one and the larger rendition is partly accomplished by scrunching the stream into a narrower version, by cutting off some of the scene around the sides, and by diminishing some of the detail. However, the work, itself, is by no means diminished. The colors, the details, and workmanship, in this Xiangxiu style Chinese embroidery, still make this an extraordinary piece of craftsmanship that you will be proud to own. It's just easier to find room for this smaller one to show it off and enjoy it. Framed and matted under glass, 52 x 62 cm.

|712.||Cows Come Home in the Evening, original
oil painting on canvas by Meng Liu
Cows are uncommon in much of China, so, when you see a cow herder, they usually only have a few cows, not the large herds that you would see even at a small farm, in the US. This is one of two paintings that we have of Cow hereds by Meng Liu, in the Leona Craig Art Gallery. The other one is a morning scene with the herder taking the cows out to pasture, in the morning; in this one, they are returning home for the evening. The other painting is misty and darker, while this one is more colorful and bright.
We like the works of Meng Liu because they show good technique and diverse and thoughful subjects. We also tend to appreciate scenes from real life, in China, instead of the glitzy portrails that China tries to show the world, in its own press releases.

|830.||The Advertiser, original figurative oil
and acrylic portrait by Tang Hai Guo
As the creative director, he has to appear hip with his earring, stubble, and black glasses (albeit with no lenses). It is his job to convince and persuade - to deceived, and to make the people believe that there is freedom of choice, although his purpose is to confine them in commercial imprisonment.

View from the North (Guangzhou), original watercolor painting by Li Jin
One night Li and his wife were having dinner in one the higher buildings by the river, and this view of the north captuered his interest. At the time there were no tall building, as yet, in Guangzhou, and they could see all the way to the TV tower on Yuexiu Mountain and beyond. Li liked the contrast of the soft brick building, many of which can still be seen between and behind the tall ones, today, and the hardness of the steel tower.
We offer several works by Jin Ming Lee (Jin Ming Li), in the Leona Craig Art Gallery on-line. To see our current offerings, just click on: Jin Ming Lee Page
